Asian Ghost House at Manila Ocean Park

Since childhood, I've been fond of watching scary or horror movies. It terrifies me to the point that it invades my dreams. I don't know why  but no matter how scared I felt, I still like watching horror films. But it's different when it comes to horror booths or horror houses. I don't have the courage to enter into one. Just thinking of all the ghosts and other scary creatures (even though they're just people in scary costumes) running or coming after you makes all my hairs stand on end. Yikes!!

One afternoon at work I received an invite from Manila Ocean Park that they'll be having a media launch about their newest attraction, the "Asian Ghost House". I didn't feel scared or anything so I decided to go right away. I went with my blogger friend, Josephine Arce who also came from work.

Upon arriving, we weren't expecting the kind of media launch they prepared for us. We will all experience entering the Asian Ghost House. I felt just the teeniest bit of alarm and excitement as well. But as the minutes passed, after witnessing reactions of the people coming out of the ghost house, I admitted a chill run down my spine. I felt like I'm not ready for it. I. AM. SCARED. Too scared that Jo and I were unusually quiet while eating. Even without talking, I know both of us were trying to calm down and convince ourselves that we can do this. Haha

Then it was time to go inside.  Pulse racing like crazy and hearts beating fast, we met along the dark, eerie hallway a deranged lady with her infant child then a long-tongue ghost roaming around the corridors thirsty for blood. Ahhhh!! A Chinese vampire also scared us along with the Cheongsam ghost. Suddenly, you will hear a noise coming from the meat loving butcher. He looks totally scary covered with blood! At every corridor and every turn you will surely get a scary, terrifying surprise!

AQUA in the City!

It's past 6pm in the evening on the 28th of April. I am wearing my sexiest two-piece bikini while seated on a bench and sipping my favorite martini. Stretched out in front of me is a large pool with fountains and laser lights on the background changing color as if dancing to the beat of the music. Yes, I am listening to the pulsating beats of house music and club DJ. And oh, I spotted a jacuzzi. On one side, there's a buffet with appetizing foods laid on top of a long table. A stage is located at the center where a fashion show is being held. Later in the evening, different bands were about to perform. Hmmm.. I'm really feeling chic and posh tonight.......... in the middle of an evening summer pool party with my classy friends somewhere in Beverly Hills, California.

Heyyyy.. you think that was all part of my imagination??!! Heck to the NO! Uh, well...... FINE. Sort of. What you read is true except that I'm not wearing a two-piece bikini (how i wish), and I'm not with my classy friends in Beverly Hills. Scratch that.

Actually, I've been on a very awesomeee AQUA Pool Party last April 28 in Manila Ocean Park!. Yayyyyyyyyyy!! The place is crowded with members of the media, bloggers and invited guests to join the biggest pool party!!! Please excuse me for overusing the exclamation mark (!!) but I guess that shows you how excited this fella right here is about this. :)

Before the pool party started, we watched the AQUA Musical Fountain Show which is really AH-MAH-ZIIIIING! I loved eeeeeeetttt! :)

Now back to the pool party. Imagine the scorching heat of the sun? I know. It's unbearable. So a dip (or dive) into the pool is what we all need. Inside Manila Ocean Park's Acquatica  is an oasis called  LIQUID Pool and Lounge where you could spend fun and fabulous nights with friends! The place looks really elegant and perfect for youth who loves to party :) Wait, lemme give you a glimpse of what it looks like inside. :)

See? It looks classy! :)

Along the bay area, guests where everywhere! Tables and chairs were set and a buffet with mouth-watering foods were prepared. Yes, mouth-watering talaga dahil hindi nakatakas ang lechon sa mata ko! Hahahaha! Located at the center is a stage where a fashion show is currently going on. Later in the evening, different bands will be performing such as Silent Sanctuary, Tanya Markova, Moonstar 88 and more. Everyone is having a blast! :) I'm having a blast too.... mainly with the food! Haha! I'm so stuffed I could barely get my ass off of the chair and swiiiiim! After taking a couple of snap shots, we then changed into our swim wears and tried the jacuzzi first, then the large pool at the bay area. :) I'm actually feeling swanky that night. Hah! :)

On that same night, the latest technology to make Manila Ocean Park the first high-tech theme park in the country is introduced. Here's my blog post about that: Manila Ocean Park: a tech savvy marine theme park

I was so happy and thankful to my blogger friend Jo (her blog HERE) for tagging me on this unique and very joyous event. Not only for the fun but also for the opportunity to personally meet a couple of amazing bloggers. I don't know, but I don't really like to tag my self as a blogger as early as now, however I was glad to have met wonderful people in activities like this :)

You can visit Liquid's Facebook page here: Liquid Pool and Lounge or Manila Ocean Park's website www.manilaoceanpark.com and official Facebook Page Manila Ocean Park (Official)

Manila Ocean Park: a tech savvy marine theme park

A few years back, I remember going to Manila Ocean Park for the first time together with my high school best buds. Those were the times where I didn't care much about taking a lot of pictures whenever I go to a new place or post Twitter updates, contrary to what I always do now. Hee hee. :p

I'm honestly not aware if MOP has access to wifi back then, so when I was tagged along to an event in MOP last April 28, I was both very surprised and excited to know that Manila Ocean Park is a tech-savvy marine theme park! Woohooo! :)

First, the entire park facility becomes a WiFi zone so guests can now check their emails while strolling around the park, snap some photo of the colorful jellies or huge sharks and share photos instantly, almost as if your online friends are enjoying the moment with you! :)

Second, I know all of us would agree that Facebook and Twitter were two favorite tools and most used social networking sites by Filipinos. We use these sites to connect with our loved ones both local and abroad, post status updates and share photos with friends. The virtual world has been more accessible due to the latest gadgets currently available in the metro, which makes it more appealing to tech-savvy youth and able to adapt to the new features and enhancements.

So what really is this tech-savvy thing about MOP i've been blabbing about? You see, Manila Ocean Park recently acquired an innovative IT solution from Europe! Sowsyaaaaaaaal! :) Europe na ang leveling :) Guests can now log in using their Facebook and Twitter account by means of the e-wrist tag that they will be provided. This stores their social media information and allows them to share their status updates and even photos right at that instant to their online friends! Cooooooooool! :)

This technological breakthrough device will be seen in the different popular attractions such as the Oceanarium, Trails to Antartica, Marine Life Habitat, Jellies Exhibit, Liquid Pool and Lounge Acquatica.

At syempre, hindi ako papahuli! I tried this e-wrist tag everyone is fuzzing about on the event. I paid Php100 to avail of the e-wrist tag. After activating the e-wrist tag with my social media information, I simply tapped it on the device and...... voila! My Facebook account already posted a status that says something like this..
"I'm here at Liquid for AQUA-having a refreshing dip in the jacuzzi and dancing to the coolest sounds! Come on over here at Manila Ocean Park! We'll be here till dawn :)"
I laaaaaaavvvvvvv eeeeeeeeeeettt! I sound like one cool kid enjoying the night! Hah! I wasn't able to try posting a picture though, but I will try it the next time I go back.. and I will definitely go back! :) Another good thing about it was that you have a choice whether to keep it as a souvenir or return the e-wrist tag and they will give your Php100 back! And being the kuripot that I am, I claimed my Php100 back! Hahahaha!

Here were a couple of photos:

Third, the QR Code:

Aside from Facebook and Twitter updates, MOP also has this QR (Quick Response) Code that students who go to the park for field trip can benefit from. The QR Code consists of square dots arranged on a white bacground. Information seen in the labels of the attractions such as various types of fishes can be scanned using the QR Code and stored in mobile gadgets, which makes this tool convenient. You can also access the website of MOP and browse current promos and events using this code, plus, it displays text and images making it easy to check out the latest happenings in the integrated resort destination.you

So what are  you all waiting for? Get your ass off the chair and go to Manila Ocean Park for a wonderful and tech-savvy experience! :)
