2013 year-ender post

2013. WOW. Looking back, this year has been one hell of a roller coaster ride for me. I laughed, cried, gained new friends, people who left and who came, felt stressed, angry, afraid, confused and a whole lot of emotions but what's important are the learnings that I gained along this 2013 journey.

WORK/CAREER

At the start of the year, I felt really blessed to be starting work at a hospital because I can finally practice my profession even for only a year of contract. I worked at Valenzuela Medical Center as RN Heals (program of DOH for nurses). I learned a lot from a year's experience of being a nurse. I overcame my fear of numerous procedures and was proud that now I can do it on my own. More than that, I met my workmates that has been more like a family to me. I am thankful for because of them, work has been fun and less stressful. :)

HEALTH
It was also this year that I felt like I was given a second life. It was around April when I experienced a severe allergic reaction that resulted to very swollen eyes and to almost anaphylactic shock. Thankfully, I was at the hospital that time and my co-nurses were very quick to respond. My asthma was also triggered (last asthma attack was in high school) I think maybe because of work that I almost quit my job. But thankfully I was very okay now with the help of meds and rest. Health is wealth so we must really take good care of our health.

TRAVEL

For the whole 2013 I have only travelled once because of my busy sched at work but I swear it is one of my most memorable trips ever! My bestfriend, Joanne and I went to CEBU with a limited budget but we were able to enjoy it to the fullest! Getting away from the city and all the stress from work and school for Joanne even for just a few days is pure bliss. Exactly what we needed. :)

RELATIONSHIPS

My relationship with friends and family this year has been healthy. I was able to maintain that strong bond among my closest friends and catch up with friends that I rarely see. I also gained new set of friends from work which became like a family to me. :)

On the other hand, I guess I'm not too lucky with romantic relationships this year. Hehe Two heartbreaks in a year? Tough. But I guess that's God's way of helping me realize who's worth keeping and who's worth letting go. It might be hard but still thankful that I have experienced the most difficult and most heart-breaking heartbreak in my 24 years of existence. I learned lessons I would never have learned if not for that. :)

MONEY

Money... come and go. Hahaha :))

It's so nice to reflect once again on how my year has been. Mixed emotions in going through all of the things that has happened may it be good or bad, it shaped me on who I am today. 2013 may not be my favorite year but this is definitely the year that made me stronger and made me get out of my comfort zone. The year that made me the happiest career wise, but then the saddest because of the people I lost along the way. What's important is that I have no regrets on one single day that has happened.

And with this, 2014.. I'm so ready. :P

Year Ender: Highlights of my 2012

Few hours left and we're all ready to welcome 2013! Whew.. that was fast. Parang kelan lang when I started this blog, and then all of a sudden a whole year has passed! Looking back, 2012 has been a great year for me. I may not have practiced my profession (Nursing) but still I was thankful for my job and all the wonderful experiences that came along with it. I felt blessed throughout the year and thankful for all the memories I had. So let me tell a little something about some of the highlights of the year 2012.

Shadow Teaching
With no luck to work at a hospital, I landed on a different line of job. I started working as a shadow teacher (to a child with special needs) late January in one of the schools in Manila. Teaching and caring for a special child is a different and very rewarding experience for me. I learned to appreciate them more and understand them in a way that books can't. They were all extra sweet and loving. But of course, you have to have loads of patience! :) I feel so blessed that I had this opportunity of becoming a teacher, although not by profession, but by heart. :)

Blogging

I started this blog (previously No Malice In Wonderland) with the encouragement of my friend, Josephine Arce of Wallflower Journeys. Thanks to her! I never knew blogging could be so enjoyable until I made one (and I'm glad I did!). Before, I was just contented with "blog hopping" or reading one blog to another.. and another. But when I created my blog, I was able to practice my writing skills, enhance my ideas, and ofcourse, all the experiences of attending events as well. :)

Attending EVENTS
In line with blogging, I also got to experience attending different events. My friend Josephine tagged me along to the very first event that I attended, the Scandalous Chinese New Year Party. From that event on, she started to tag me along to one event and another. I really, really enjoyed all of it! It was a whole new experience for me. I was able to go to to different places I have never been to before, try out different restaurants, plus the loot bags too! Haha! But mostly, what I love about this was being exposed to different kinds of people. From bloggers, writers, TV personalities and even the members of the elite. It was kind of overwhelming yet fun and exciting at the same time! I even won a new HTC phone from one of the events! Haha :) :)

First Concert!
Yes! It's only this year where I watched a concert for the very FIRST time! Hahaha It was Nicki Minaj's concert and I was so happy because I really like her and her songs. Plus it's FREE! I watched with my two best college buds Lya and Dhebz. It was hella fun! It was a different experience when you get to watch your fave singer perform live :)

Books and Reading!
I love love love reading books! I might not be a bookworm but I'm definitely a book lover! This year, I was so happy because I exceeded my 2012 reading Challenge via Goodreads! Hooray! I challenged my self to read 40 books for a span of 365 days and I got a total of 42. :) :) Thanks to my very light sched at work. I'm planning to read moreeee books on 2013. :)

LEE MIN HO Fan Meet!
Just thinking about that night made me kilig all over!!

New Hair

Finally after years of being in my comfort zone of sporting a straight hair, I eventually got tired of it and braved my way to the salon to get a digital perm. I don't know if it suits me but my hair got a couple lot of compliments thanks to T&J! :)

New Friends
A year wouldn't be complete without making new friends I love these people and I'm glad I'm friends with them :)

I guess that's all for the highlight of my 2012. I noticed that I didn't get to travel much this year. Not only for the lack of time but lack of moolah as well. Haha So I'll keep that as a self reminder to save money for travel next year. :) I'm glad that I have my family with me, gained new friends and kept the old ones as well. I also kept the relationship I have with this guy for two years now.. and counting! Haha I was happy that this year gave me new experiences and memories to treasure.

Hoping for more adventures in 2013! And yes, I'm excited for 2013 becozzz it's my year and my fellow Year of the Snake babies! Woohoo! Are you all ready to welcome the year? :)

2011 Year-Ender: late post

Hello everyone! I know this is kinda late. I posted this on my wordpress site because for some unknown reason, I can't access Blogger on our internet at home. I'm currently at the internet cafe while typing this. But still I want to share my 2011 year-ender blah blahs. :)

"Time flies so fast, another great year has passed.."

In a few hours we'll all be saying goodbye to 2011 and welcoming 2012. Yay!  Everyone's excited, including me! But before I head on to helping my mum cook foods for our New Year's eve, I decided to reflect and write on how my year 2011 had been.

I started my 2011 in Nueva Vizcaya, my mother's hometown, where I worked as a Nurse Trainee in a private hospital from January until March.

Me with my co-trainees :)

At first, I was kind of nervous but happy at the same time because finally, I'll get to practice my profession. On the first few weeks, it became hard for me to adjust because I'm away from my family and friends in Manila. I became homesick. But then I was able to adapt and adjust with the help of my new friends!

Even though I don't have any salary or allowance, it was a very great experience for me and an unforgettable one. Our graduation day came and I thanked my mentors (the hospital staffs and administrators) and also my co-trainees.

PLT trainees graduation day! Finally!

After that, I came back to Manila and applied in several call centers because this time I wanted to earn money. I've been turned down by several companies and was almost losing hope until on my fourth try, I was finally employed by Startek in June. At last! Haha
It was a very good company. The trainers were down-to-earth and the people around were always wearing smiles. I loved my wavemates and gained new friends, again.
But this also need adjustment from me because instead of patients, we're dealing with customers abroad through the phone. I was able to practice and improve speaking in English. I learned how to multi-task wherein while talking to a customer, I should also navigate the tools. I gained confidence. It's a whole new experience and a challenging one, I must say. Unfortunately, I have to leave because of personal matters.

August came and I was again employed to another kind of job. It was a pharmaceutical company somewhere in Makati. I worked as a clinician or Medical Promo Representative. We were assigned to a clinic where we give samples of the drug that the doctor prescribed the patients. We also give the patients all the necessary informations about the drug. I totally enjoyed my work because somehow it's in line with my profession, although it's only contractual for 3 months.

Before my contract ends, I was promoted to a higher position and was offered to be trained for  weeks as a Territory Sales Manager. I was hesitant at first because I have other plans after my 3-month contract. I accepted it but after almost 2 weeks, I decided to quit the training and just pursue my career being a nurse. I have no regrets ith my decision. I'm greatful for that experience and thankul to have made new friends again.

2011 have been a roller coaster ride for me specially in terms of my career. Problems come and go. I experienced different kind of jobs. I didn't regret any of them because I learned a lot of different other things and gained new friends and experiences along the way. I was able to explore my self and think about what I really want in life. So I kind of want to name my 2011 as an experimental year for me. He he.
For the year 2012, which is only a few hours away, I wanted to make things right. I wanted to have a clear plan for my self.
Thank you 2011 for being a year full of challenges and realizations! And most of all, thank you Lord for another great year! Let's all look forward to 2012 with a smile on our faces. :)

Let's welcome 2012 with a..
happy new YEAR
happy new DAYS
happy new DESIRES
happy new CHANCES and..
happy new YOU

Cheers everyone! :)
