It Only Hurts When I Pee

It only hurts when I pee.. Yes, you heard me. But no, it's not what you're thinking. I don't have Urinary Tract Infection or any disease of some sort.

This is actually the title of the book by a multitalented writer and TV personality, RJ Ledesma. It Only Hurts When I Pee: RJ Ledesma's Guide on Bodily Gases, Hair Loss and Pink Parts is his fourth humor book launched last February 20, 6PM at Powerbooks Greenbelt 4, Makati City. Straight from work, I hurriedly went to this event!

From nose picking, burping, crotch scratching, and other forms of subtle artistry, the books is a compilation of the ridiculously truthful, self aware and highly comical chronicles of the less hygienic male species based on curious epic research, thorough investigation and, ahem, first-hand experience.

The book, which is distributed by Anvil Publishing, and all its 167 pages talks about amusing topics and antics, which includes classic ad epic details in Pinoy dating and mating scenes, plus male entertainment created simply by grimy fingers and a lack of good taste. All of this were freshly squeezed from RJ Ledesma's creative and humorous brain juices!

"Breaking wind has been a favorite past time among young Pinoy boys everywhere, along with playing patintero, Monkey-Monkey Annabelle, and I'm a doctor, please take off your clothes," writes Ledesma- in his newest book. "Until now, I still don't understand why farting the chorus of Christina Aguilera's Candyman doesn't amuse my wife, as much as it amuses barkada," he continues.

I, for one, got intrigued by the book. Just by looking at its cover gave me an impression that this book's gonna be full of humor yet witty and informative at the same time.. well, most especially for the boys! Hehe

With all honesty, this is my first time to hear that RJ Ledesma is also a writer and already has three best-selling books on book stores around the metro, namely: Lies My Yaya Should Have Told Me (2008), I Do or I Die (2009), and Is It Hot In Here Or Is It Me? (2010).

And so I didn't think twice to grab my own copy and have it signed by the author himself! Plus, I'm thinking of getting a copy of his three other books too!

So what are you waiting for? Grab your own copy and get ready to tickle your funny bone and usher you into testosterone land with his newest masterpiece guaranteed to pee to your heart's content!

The book It Only Hurts When I Pee, RJ Ledesma's Guide on Bodily Gases, Hair Loss and Pink Parts is available at National Bookstore, Powerbooks and Best Sellers nationwide!

Miss Saigon: A Musicale adaptation

Last Tuesday, my friend Josephine was invited by her friend, Franzly Lacoma, to watch a major production entitled "Miss Saigon: A Musicale adaptation" presented by the University of Santo Tomas- MEDIARTRIX. Being the good friend that she is, Jo also invited me.

If someone would ask me what knowledge do I have of the famous play Miss Saigon, all I could say is.. Lea Salonga, then scratch my head afterwards. Clueless? Yes. Honestly, that's all I know. Period.

Lea Salonga is a Filipina mezzo-soprano singer, actress, and is well-known for originating the lead role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon. If you would like to know more about her, click THIS.

Miss Saigon shares the emotional story of an American GI and his love affair with a Vietnamese woman in a world torn apart by war. For a brief rundown about the story, click THIS.

The opera is very inspiring. It is one of the stage shows that can be enjoyed as you sit back and let the music and melodrama wash over you.
The girl who played as Kim (Oops! I wasn't able to get the names of the actors. Sorry. :p), has superbly powerful voice. She has the biggest challenge because of the character she portrays, plus the increasing trauma she went through as the story progresses. In my own opinion, she sounds like Leah Salonga. I love her voice and acting skills.

The guy who played as Chris also has a very fine voice. I admire a man who sings really well, and he is no exception. :)
Both the lead actors got me very "kilig" and at the same time left me sighing and teary-eyed. All the other performers were equally good and portrayed their own roles very well. Plus admirable vocals!
Although there were some casualties along the play, overall, it is musically and visually stunning. The cast were amazing in their own respective roles. :)

This play is exceptional, you wouldn't want to miss. Two thumbs up for the UST Mediartrix for one great production! Till next time! :)

SKELE- TOES #whattheheckisthat Campaign Launch at the 2012 FILA Polo Cup

Manila Polo Club, my first time to hear about the place. It is said to be one of the most prestigious private clubs in the Philippines. By private, I mean, it is exclusive for the members of the club. They are without a doubt, included in the upper-class unit in our society.

Last Sunday, February 5, I was fortunate enough to be invited in an event that will be held in MPC. Seriously? Makakapasok na din ako sa loob without the need to be a member! *insert super-mega-excited laugh-slash-pa demure na tili here!!*

On the said event, FILA will be launching their newest sports shoes: Skele-Toes. Uh-oh. Wait, wait, and wait! Sports shoes? I'm not even close to being a sporty person. Blame my big lazy ass when it comes to exercise.

Since 2003, the Cup has been one of the brightest highlights of the local sports calendar in Manila Polo Club, not just for the action but also for the glitz and glamour!

And so this year, FILA launched a head scratchingly unique campaign called "Skele-Toes #whattheheckisthat" at the event where fans of the revolutionary Skele-Toes four-toed shoes could stand to win a starring role in a travel and lifestyle documentary!

On the campaign #whattheheckisthat:

We all wonder, what the heck is #whattheheckisthat?

All one has to do is look for the most amazingly strange, weird, odd, unbelievable, and what-the-heck-is-that reaction inducing photo, post it to the FILA Phlippines Facebook page, and the Facebook community votes for a winner. The top #whattheheckisthat submitter then gets to star in an exciting travel and lfestyle documentary wearing his or her favorite Skele-toes.

How cool is that? :)

And for those who have Twitter accounts, guests can tweet their most #whattheheckisthat moments during the event and see their messages onscreen. Top tweeters get to win FILA goodies. Exciting! :)

What's actually good about this campaign is that the FUN comes with a social responsibility. A project by FILA President Butch Albert called "500 For 500" by Operation Compassion is started. With every purchase of Skele- Toes, 500 pesos will go to the 500 families affected typhoon Sendong. In addition, guests may also donate at the registration area.

The event was hosted by four gorgeous Skele-Toes endorsers Tim Yap, Borgy Manotoc, Georgina Wilson, and Abs Abdelkader.

L-R: Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Abs Abdelkader, borgy Manotoc, Cris Albert (FILA CEO) and Georgina Wilson
The night ended with an awesome party, great food and fireworks too! :)

How to Make My Valentine's Day SPECIAL ♥

February! The so-called "LOVE month". Just a few days away and we'll all be celebrating Valentine's Day. Errr.. okay, I admit not ALL though. He he.
Most of us will surely be looking forward for this month to be filled with hearts once again. By hearts, literally speaking, I mean almost  all of the malls, stores, schools and classrooms will be decorated with cut-out hearts posted on the walls or heart-shaped balloons hanging on the ceilings. Heart-shaped chocolates, cupcakes and cakes are everywhere.

According to Wikipedia:
"Saint Valentine's Day, commonly shortened to Valentine's Day, is a holiday observed on February 14 honoring one or more early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine."
Normally on this day, we give flowers, chocolates, love letter, greeting cards and other sweety-patootie gifts to our special valentine. Love is indeed in the air!

This is what normally people, couples in particular do. But have you asked yourself on how can you make your Valentine's Day extra special?

One thought came to my mind. Why not spend my V-day with my closest friends.. more like a group date! On the last week of January, my closest friends and I planned to celebrate our Valentine's day by having a picnic at Luneta Park.. for a change. Not all of us have boyfriends. We're a mix group of In a relationship, Single, and It's Complicated relationship statuses. He he he. We are planning to bring foods and just chill, relax, hang-out together and have an update of what's going on about each other's lives. At night, we shall watch the Dancing Fountain lights.

Of course, my friends could bring their dates to join us. The more, the merrier!

Simple as it may sound, but what makes it "extra special" is that we get to celebrate Valentines Day not only with our "special someone", but also with friends that we value and are close to our hearts. Whether in a relationship or single, each of us will surely enjoy this special Valentine's day celebration! :) Okay, I'm getting excited already :)

But waiiiiiiiiiit! What gave me this idea to blog about How to make your Valentines Day Special is actually a contest by Mrs. Joy Calipes- Felizardo, owner of GASTRONOMY by Joy.

For more information about the contest and how you could join, click HERE. Here are the prizes that you could win by joining. A sweet treat for the V day. :)

Related Post:  A  Remarkable Steak Experience and More at  L'entrecote

Renaissance Woman by Naomi

I've been hearing Resorts World from a couple of friends for quite sometime. I really wanted to go and explore the place since last year but because of being busy with work and stuff, I never had the time. So when a friend invited me to an event that will be held in RW, I didn't think twice to go.

So what event was that?

UNO Magazine held an event last February 3, 2012 together with  Naomi Jewelry entitled "Renaissance Woman by Naomi". The event was held at Genting Club, Resorts World Manila. This is for the benefit of World Vision.

NAOMI is a jewelry store owned by Joel Paguio, which showed his creativeness into an art form, by making jewelry designs.
NAOMI is not an accessory but an expression. NAOMI jewelry art pieces are NOT about buying into what mass media tells you you should buy, but about finding a piece that echoes your personality. Source
Here are some of the jewelries by Naomi:

What is World Vision?
World Vision is a non-government humanitarian organization which is devoted to helping children, families and communities to conquer poverty and injustice. They serve almost 100 people in about 100 countries around the world. World Vision serves all people regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity or gender. Formore information about World Vision please visit www.worldvision.org.ph.

On the said event, Naomi together with World Vision Development Foundation collaborated to extend help to the less fortunate children and families by having an auction of two special pendants specially designed by the owner of Naomi, Joel Paguio. 20% of this will be donated to World Vision.

A fashion show was also held.

NAOMI Endorser- Precious Lara Quigaman

I enjoyed to night! I was actually star st-rucked by how beautiful Lara Quigaman is. And so I didn't hesitate to have a picture with her. He he :p

Hello, February!

Yay! January went by too fast that I almost forgot it's already February. January has been a pretty good month for me to start the year. I got me a new job and I'm just so happy!! ^__^  Also, on the first of February I already started with what I call as the "D Project", but I'm not gonna reveal what that is.. for now ;p

I wonder what's in store for me this so-called "Love month?" He he. Well anyway..

Hello February! and hello there you cute little pandabear :">

As for books, my goal for this month is to read at least 2 novels.

I'm almost done with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, next in line are these 2 novels: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold and Halo( first book) which I borrowed from a friend. I can't wait to start reading them!

I also wanted to start using the jumping rope which I bought almost a month ago. What is wrong with me, really? A month has passed and I haven't used it. Not even once.Maybe I've just been busy with new work and stuff. And just for clarity, I'm not going to use it for playing purposes. I'm going to use it to...... exercise! Hahaha I must have the initiative to start this month, seriously!!!!

Anyway, sorry for being so random. I'm looking forward to a great February, 2012!

Ciao!
