SKELE- TOES #whattheheckisthat Campaign Launch at the 2012 FILA Polo Cup

Manila Polo Club, my first time to hear about the place. It is said to be one of the most prestigious private clubs in the Philippines. By private, I mean, it is exclusive for the members of the club. They are without a doubt, included in the upper-class unit in our society.

Last Sunday, February 5, I was fortunate enough to be invited in an event that will be held in MPC. Seriously? Makakapasok na din ako sa loob without the need to be a member! *insert super-mega-excited laugh-slash-pa demure na tili here!!*

On the said event, FILA will be launching their newest sports shoes: Skele-Toes. Uh-oh. Wait, wait, and wait! Sports shoes? I'm not even close to being a sporty person. Blame my big lazy ass when it comes to exercise.

Since 2003, the Cup has been one of the brightest highlights of the local sports calendar in Manila Polo Club, not just for the action but also for the glitz and glamour!

And so this year, FILA launched a head scratchingly unique campaign called "Skele-Toes #whattheheckisthat" at the event where fans of the revolutionary Skele-Toes four-toed shoes could stand to win a starring role in a travel and lifestyle documentary!

On the campaign #whattheheckisthat:

We all wonder, what the heck is #whattheheckisthat?

All one has to do is look for the most amazingly strange, weird, odd, unbelievable, and what-the-heck-is-that reaction inducing photo, post it to the FILA Phlippines Facebook page, and the Facebook community votes for a winner. The top #whattheheckisthat submitter then gets to star in an exciting travel and lfestyle documentary wearing his or her favorite Skele-toes.

How cool is that? :)

And for those who have Twitter accounts, guests can tweet their most #whattheheckisthat moments during the event and see their messages onscreen. Top tweeters get to win FILA goodies. Exciting! :)

What's actually good about this campaign is that the FUN comes with a social responsibility. A project by FILA President Butch Albert called "500 For 500" by Operation Compassion is started. With every purchase of Skele- Toes, 500 pesos will go to the 500 families affected typhoon Sendong. In addition, guests may also donate at the registration area.

The event was hosted by four gorgeous Skele-Toes endorsers Tim Yap, Borgy Manotoc, Georgina Wilson, and Abs Abdelkader.

L-R: Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Abs Abdelkader, borgy Manotoc, Cris Albert (FILA CEO) and Georgina Wilson
The night ended with an awesome party, great food and fireworks too! :)
